Glossary of terms/initialisms

This page is forever a work-in-progress. As terms are used, or new resources needed, they'll be added to the list. These are not necessarily the medical definitions, but more how they've applied to us and Nathan. If there's a term or initialism that I use that you don't see, please let me know and I'll be sure to post it.

CP
Cerebral Palsy
This is the closest thing most people know to relate Nathan's symptoms to.
EEG
Electroencephalography
the recording of electrical activity along the scalp produced by the firing of neurons within the brain. Nathan has had several of these to try to trace/locate seizure activity.
ENT Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist
Hippotherapy a physical, occupational and speech therapy treatment strategy that utilizes equine (horse) movement (Derived from the greek word hippos meaning horse.)
PMG
polymicrogyria
a developmental malformation of the human brain characterized by an excessive number of small convolutions (gyri) on the surface of the brain. Either the whole surface or parts of the surface can be affected.
