Reason behind this site
This site was created so that I can share stories, photos, videos, experiences and some observations about my son and the fun things that he does. I have no medical background. I don't claim to have any scientific discoveries or special breakthroughs. I'm a simply guy with a big mouth (minimal typing skills, so forgive the typos) and happy heart. Here are my goals for this site:
- I want people to know a little more about PMG, how it effects those with it and the families, friends, and loved ones who deal with it on a daily basis.
- I want to share the fun things about being a dad. Some may be unique to a special needs dad, but all fathers have stories to tell.
- I want to tell stories for a father's point of view. Not to downplay moms, but not as many fathers have the opportunity to watch their kids grow and develop the way I have.
- I don't want anyone to feel sorry for me, or think that I am any worse off than the thousands of other caregivers of those with special needs.
- I don't want anyone to think that I am belittling or poking fun of anyone with or without special needs. After being told to expect so little, the little things are what makes people (especially my son) special.
